Here you will find a list of all assignments with due dates. You will need to provide me with an email invitation or a link to your wikis and blogs for grading purposes. Be sure to check the discussion and participate each week! You will be graded on all assignments as well as your participation both in class and on your discussion contributions to the blog.

Introduce yourself

  • at least 3 sections with text
  • use of 3 different fonts

on this wiki and leave a short comment on three other members' pages. Use your prezi, a glog, and/or a wordle. Here you can provide a link to your classroom blog and classroom wiki that you will create for the final project, as well as links to your PLN.



Create a Personal Learning Network (PLN)

(ongoing from July 13, 2010)

by subscribing to Web 2.0 tools, such as Ning, blogs, twitter, etc. to expand your educational experience. Each week, starting July 20, you will share a new discovery with the class from your network. You can start with the People to Watch page for blogs and nings and Building a PLN page on this wiki. Post links to your subscriptions on your "mypage" on this wiki.



Write a Critique

(due July 22, 2010)

Use The Amazing Web 2.0 Projects Book to choose and research a lesson plan, and then review the benefits of using the lesson as well as its limitations. Post your critique on the Web 2.0 Projects Page on this wiki.




Final Project

(due July 29, 2010)

Create a wiki for a classroom application on a specific topic or unit of study that you teach. Use wikispaces.com and post the link to your site on your "mypage" on this wiki. Your wiki must include a minimum of five (5) pages including an Assignments page. You must also embed a glog, a blog for your students, video, and hyperlinks to web resources. Your blog should include an opening discussion post for your students to respond. The wiki you create will be shared among your classmates on the last night of class - July 29, 2010. On our "advtech" blog, you will also write a reflection about creating the wiki and how you can use it to benefit your instruction. The reflection piece will be due one week past the last class, on August 5, 2010.
